Regulatory tailwinds boost private equity appetite for UK companies

UK private and listed businesses are the most attractive to private equity professionals compared to those in other parts of the world, according to research by Numis.

The study, which surveyed 200 UK-based senior private equity professionals, found that 85% of respondents viewed the UK as a better investment environment versus other geographies. Regulatory tailwinds were cited by 33% as a key factor supporting their view. Depressed valuations in UK public markets was also highlighted as an attractive feature for 29% of those polled.
