Merian expands board with appointment of former SJP chair Bates

Merian Global Investors has appointed former St James's Place chair and Diversity Project founder Sarah Bates as chair of its board, as well as hiring Mark Gregory as a non-executive director.

Bates will be an independent non-executive chair while Gregory will be an independent non-executive director as well as chair of the audit and risk committee.  Having stepped down from the board of St James's Place in May, where she had been chair since 2014, Bates has nearly 20 years' experience on company boards.  She is also one of the founders of the Diversity Project and is chair of the Diversity Project Charity, which was set up following The Presidents Club scandal at the start of 2018.  Gregory previously spent nearly 20 years working at Legal & General, including four year...
