Franklin Templeton launches Europe's first actively managed euro green bond ETF

Franklin Templeton has unveiled an actively managed Euro Green bond ETF for head of European fixed income David Zahn and portfolio manager Rod MacPhee, which it says is Europe's first.

The new ETF will first be listed on the Deutsche Börse on 30 April and will subsequently be listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Borsa Italiana on 2 May. The Franklin Liberty Euro Green Bond UCITS ETF will sit alongside the existing nine smart beta and active ETFs within the Irish-domiciled Franklin LibertyShares UCITS ETF range. London-based managers Zahn and MacPhee will employ a bottom-up credit analysis on corporate bonds and will work from Franklin Templeton's propriety ESG model on sovereigns.
