The popularity of ESG investing has declined among UK investors, with just 53% saying they consider ESG factors, compared to 65% in 2021, according to a new study.
The annual ESG Attitudes Tracker from the Association of Investment Companies showed that fears of greenwashing have grown. In 2021, 48% of respondents agreed with the statement "I am not convinced by ESG claims from funds". This rose to 58% in 2022 and hit 63% in this year's survey.
