Connection Capital hires abrdn analyst as new fund associate

Connection Capital has appointed Anas Afzal as a fund associate in its alternative funds team, bringing the analyst from abrdn.

The move comes as the firm looks to capitalise on the "appetite from private investors for access to alternative fund strategies [that] continues to grow at record levels".  Afzal joins Connection Capital from abrdn, where he worked as a portfolio analyst on the fixed income team. Prior to this, he was a data scientist for a fintech start-up. In his new role, Afzal will work alongside head of funds Lorna Robertson to source and identify specialist fund managers.
