Activist investor Edward Bramson is trying once again to secure a place on the board of Electra Private Equity, as his battle with the company intensifies.

Sherborne Investors, led by Bramson, has requisitioned Electra for another extraordinary general meeting, in a bid to appoint Bramson and Ian Brindle to the board. This is the second time Sherborne has sought to achieve board representation, after it failed to win shareholder approval at a general meeting in October 2014. However, Sherborne has been growing its stake in the £1.1bn private equity company to almost 30%, meaning any vote is likely to be closer at the upcoming EGM than it was last year.
