Barings soft closes £1.5bn Europe Select fund

Barings is to soft close its Europe Select trust after assets in the portfolio tripled over the past five years.

The small-cap focused fund, run by head of small-cap equities Nick Williams (pictured), was just £500m in size in February 2013, and has grown to £1.5bn since then.  As a result of the growth, the firm is adopted a limited issue status for the fund on 23 March, 2016.  Under the new rules, the fund will no longer accept subscriptions from new customers or add the fund to new platforms.
